In 1989 a man named Bob Lazar appeared on TV claiming to have reverse-engineered alien spacecraft at Area 51. After 30 years of silence, his workplace was unexpectedly raided by the FBI. But why? This sci-fi drama follows Bob’s absurd, highly confidential, and possibly indefensible life, as told by his oft-forgotten lab parter: Barry.
Based on characters conceived by Lynn Riggs and musicalized by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, this historical drama tells the story of Jud Fry, a teenager on the autism spectrum in 1891, and his best and only friend, Laurey Williams.
The legacy of the 3rd emperor of Rome is not a good one. Gaius Germanicus (“Caligula”) is thought of today as perverse, incestuous, cruel, vindictive—a mad emperor. This play, inspired by Aloys Winterling’s landmark biography, explores the question of how Caligula’s legacy became something so monstrous.
